Priced at about $70 these headphones are a great mid-range set that are impressing people left and right. Take a look at a recent review from Amazon.com:

"I love these headphones. I use them at night in bed when my girlfriend is sleeping and she doesn't hear a thing. The sound is surprisingly great and the headphones are very comfortable. The line of sight is flexible - so you can be off to the side and still have reception. The headphones don't look or feel cheap, are not too heavy and the transmitter base looks really sleek. The batteries last a long time before recharging and all you have to do to turn them on is put them on and they turn off as soon as you take them off - very cool feature. The price is great too considering the quality and features..."

Glowing words indeed. There is one feature that's used in these headphones that can either make you happier or more frustrated with them and that's the infrared feature. Infrared technology is based on light frequencies so you only have a line of sight range with them. If something comes in between your headphones and the transmitter then your reception will get fuzzy or drop altogether.

However, infrared does allow for a clearer sound quality coming into the headphones because it doesnt have to modulate and demodulate like RF technology does. So if you're Ok with infrared technology I would definitely recommend picking up this set of wireless tv headphones.

Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones

The Logitech Freepulse wireless headphones are a great set of headphones for your gym workouts or jogs. For anything outside we would recommend other headphones though.

Design

They're designed with a behind the neck, wire core band that is very durable and you wont ever have to worry about it snapping at all. In the past behind the neck design could cause undue weight on the ears which would get very uncomfortable fairly quickly. This design however utilizes very light weight materials and mitigated this problem very well.

Another great design feature is the volume toggle on the right headphone. It covers the whole headphone and is very easy to use without having to look at it.

Sound Quality

The quality of sound with this set of headphones isn't going to meet the audiophile's standards but it certainly does get the job done. Overall we would call the sound quality average but perfect for exercise as it lets in outside noises which will help you stay aware of your surroundings.

Range

We did a bit of testing and concluded that you can be about 35 feet away from the bluetooth transmitter before it starts losing quality signal.

It comes with 6 different adapters to be used with different iPod models so that is has a snug fit which will protect against damage and will help during exercise.

To Conclude we would recommend the Logitech Freepulse Wireless Headphones for the gym rat or jogger. If you're looking for something with more fidelity or better for home theater try the Pioneer SE-DIR800C Wireless TV Headphones

Pioneer SE-DIR800C Wireless TV Headphones

Price: $263
I love my movies and a good action or sci-fi flick always sounds better in 5.1 sound. However, my roommates never appreciate me blasting movies and, needless to say, sharing time on the tube is a bit frustrating. So I’ve decided to use my laptop as my DVD player and I picked up the Pioneer SE-DIR800C Wireless TV Headphones for my audio. They’re expensive, yes, bu there is a very good reason they’re expensive. They rule the headphone world.

Comfort: These headphones are INSANELY comfortable. They’re very light, and has a headband that will rest and stretch on top of your head and it adjusts to all types of head sizes.

Convenience: The wireless feature is an enormous plus as always, and it is the main contributor to the convenience factor. The transmitter uses an infrared signal which the headphones receive. The sensor on the headphones is located on the left side of the headphones, included with the battery compartment and the on/off switch. The volume control dial is on the right side. The transmitter sends the infrared signal in a cone shaped direction with the infrared cone zone reaching about 3 meters wide with a depth of 8 meters.

Sound Quality: The Sound quality from these wireless TV headphones is absolutely breath-taking. It’s clear and open, and the bass is deep, though it can’t recreate the effect of an earth shaking sub woofer. But it’s such a joy to have the volume cranked up without worrying about disturbing anyone.

Cons: They have a limited line-of-sight range because of the use of infrared signals (limited to about 30 ft.) and the signal must be free of obstacles in the receivers path. The plastic construction of the headphones are a little brittle and fragile and definitely not meant to be mishandled. Also, the base station generates a quite a bit of heat right near the input.

No more arguing over volume issues, the sound quality is the best I’ve ever heard from headphones and they’re so comfortable you’ll forget they’re there.

Truly, these exceeded my expectations. Buy your pair today!

Unisar Sounds Wireless TV Listener

Price: $40
The Unisar Sounds Wireless TV Headphones floored me with their pristine fidelity and clarity. The price worried me a little when I ordered and paid less than $40. I thought I might have to send these headphones back, but they have excellent sound in each ear, and on top of that they were super easy to install with our TVs that I could barely believe it.

My 87 year old Mother has already called me three times long distance to tell me how much she loves these wireless TV headphones. She keeps saying they’re the best gift that she has ever received, and she is thoroughly enjoying finally being able to listen to the TV and actually hear it now All the other members of the family are relieved because now its quiet and peaceful since they no longer have to listen to the TV booming all day. I know of three other people who own them and they are also very happy with the sound quality and the quiet it brings the house. It’s so easy to set up, and the price is right and it does what it says it will do.

This is an outstanding product. The Earphones don’t bug you after long stretches of watching and are comfortable for long-term wear. The headphones also have a quality build so they won’t fall apart after a month of use.

You shouldn’t be expecting perfect high fidelity sound, that’s just not what these wireless TV headphones are about. But you should expect good, intelligible stereo sound, with a respectable range of volume. You can easily get 40-60 hours on just two AAA batteries or you can get rechargeable batteries and you’re in business.

I’d like to see an extra transmitter offered as well, so I could have one in the living room and one in the bedroom but all in all I highly recommend these Unisar wireless TV headphones and are a great deal for the price range they’re in.

Sennheiser RS120 926 MHz Wireless TV Headphones with Charging Cradle

Price: $63
Finally, after doing a lot of research on Sony, Sennheiser and RCA wireless headphones I decided on the Sennheiser RS-120’s and I have ZERO regrets. These headphones are exceptional.

I ended up buying them over at Best Buy. When I asked the employee there if I could try them out he plugged them in to a DVD player and they came to life. I walked all the way across the store which is filled with tons of other electronics sending out all sorts of signals and heard no interference at all! I was nothing short of astounded by this set of wireless TV headphones and so I bought them right then and there.

From the elegant, ergonomic design to the crisp, clear sound, the Sennheiser RS-120’s can’t be beat by Sony, RCA or anyone else for that matter.

They are very comfortable to wear, and the sound quality is great. I can go anywhere in the house or in my backyard or front yard, or even to my neighbors (funny story haha!) and there’s no problem with reception!

The base charges the batteries without any problems. I’ve been using these for a while now and am still using the original batteries, and they continue to hold a good, long change so I can watch several movies without having to do a recharge in between the movies.

I have the base connected to my home theater receiver to which I have a TV, DVD player, and my PC connected and these wireless tv headphones work well with all of those sources. Music, movies, games TV: Everything sounds awesome and I recommend these wireless TV headphones without reservation. You will be very hard pressed to find a better deal in this price range. Your wife has made one of her best: grilled chicken sandwiches with ice cold lemonade made from fresh lemons. There's a reason you got married :)

After cleaning up every last crumb you want to settle down and watch the new episode of the Office but your spouse want to curl up on the couch or even in bedroom to read the latest Dan Brown novel. In the past she's been patient with the level of noise coming from the TV but today she just wants some peace and quiet. You're at an impasse.

Luckily for you we live in a super fancy high-tech world and we have wireless TV headphones AND they've been getting cheaper and cheaper. They would be the PERFECT solution to your problem. You can pop those right on and watch your show with great sound, almost always better than without headphones and she gets to read her book in perfect sublime silence. Or if she wanted she could even turn on some soothing music without interfering with you!

You've found the solution now you need to find a pair of headphones that will meet your needs. Of course you want a pair that will provide clear fidelity, as little volume leakage as possible and some headphones that won't let any outside noise in. Where do you start?

Amazon is a great place to shop for just about everything and especially electronics. They provide thorough descriptions, related products and a cool review system that allows you to find the best wireless TV headphones FAST. Check out some of the products to right and browse through their reviews. You learn a lot about the product and may even find what you're looking for.
So how much does a decent pair of wireless TV headphones cost? Is it affordable?
Great question. There are price ranges within Wireless TV headphones:

$20 - $50

$60 - $150

$150 - $300

Now as consumers our first impulse is to think that the more expensive the product is the better quality it will be, however when it comes to audio this isn't necessarily true all the time.

(tip for buying anything: one of the secrets to marketing a product is to charge more solely because consumers will think it a higher quality product than everything else when this may not be true so do your homework before going for the most expensive thing in the name of quality)

You basically have two options when it comes to wireless headphones for TV: Infrared and RF. The most common is RF, which means, radio frequency. RF is the most versatile when it comes to mobility but lags behind infrared in quality. This is because RF cant transmit two separate frequencies to get true stereo sound. The RF transmitter will modulate both frequencies into one to send it to your headphones then, once its arrived it will demodulate it into the two frequencies again.

The frequencies lose quality when going through this process. However If you have a pair of RF wireless TV headphones they will allow you to roam about the house while still keeping a clear signal. As long as there's no interference with other RF devices you'll be able to listen to the same source from several different rooms even.

Infrared on the other hand can transmit two crystal clear signals to your wireless TV headphones and get some pretty awesome sound quality from them. Because infrared is a light wave though it cant travel through walls and when it comes down to it you pretty much need to have a clear line of sight to the transmitter for your headphones to work properly. The infrared technology is more limiting that RF but you get higher quality sound so its a trade off you'll need to consider.

Why You Need Wireless TV Headphones

Many people wonder if Wireless TV Headphones are actually worth the price. To be honest the value of any product will depend entirely upon individual consumers, however there are a few major problems that having one or several pair of wireless TV headphones can solve.

Better listening and viewing experience

Having wireless TV headphones can do wonders for your viewing or listening experience. Think about all those times you're right in the middle and a dramatic or intense scene in a movie or TV show and someone walks in being completely goofy and changing the whole mood. They take you out of the experience the show is trying to create for you and as a result you loose a lot of value that you could have kept had they either not walked in at a bad time or if you had some way to block out the noise.

Wireless Headphones for TV or movies often come with a noise canceling feature that allows you to continue watching in peace while people come and go. Also, depending on where you live the headphones can easily block out extra outside noises like trains, traffic city noise etc.

Better sound quality

Headphones will always be able to deliver better sound quality simply because the area they have to cover is so small. It makes it much easier to optimize for a small area rather than a large area that the speakers can't be customized for (except if you want to pay way too much money for an audio specialist to come in and do it all). Think about it. It is much easier to navigate a room if you know exactly how that room is built, if you know all the walls curves and dynamics. Now compare yourself to audio frequencies.

Audio engineers can tailor the sounds much better because they know that they're only projecting to an ear. In contrast all an engineer can do for big speakers to be use in rooms is guess what a general room will be like when in all likelihood every room will be very different and thus make balancing a creating optimal audio coverage harder. So if you understood any of that mess of writing you just need to take this away: Headphones will give you better sound quality more consistently than regular speakers.

Better relationships

this is a bit counter intuitive but yes, its true, wireless TV headphones can improve your relationships with your family members. At first glance you might think it would destroy relationships by isolating individual however how often do you or other members of the family just want to do different things around the house? I always get so annoyed by all the extra noise when I just want to sit down in peace and quiet to read my book of the week and the TV has been blaring some ridiculous tv show and movie. AHHHH! Just talking about it makes me cringe haha!

If my roommates had some headphones then they could just pop those on and I wouldn't even know they were watching a movie! I could read my book in peace, they could watch their movie in peace and I wouldn't have any problems controlling my frustration :) and it goes the other way too obviously. When I just want to veg out and watch some stupid TV show my roommates don't have to be bothered by the extra noise because I would be wearing my fancy wireless TV headphones!

So those are the reasons you ought to get yourself some and even your friends and family wireless TV headphones. They've done wonders for me :)

How to Choose Wireless TV Headphones

There is a wide price range for wireless TV headphones. Often top quality headphones can be priced up to $500 and others can be as low as $10 so it becomes important what kind of headphones you're looking for, what you're budget is and what kinds of problems you're trying to solve by getting Wireless TV headphones.

I'll format this article by choosing 5 different headphones in 5 different price ranges and then explain what that pair of headphones would be good for and what they might be lacking.

Sony MDR-DS6000 Wireless Surround Digital 2.4GHz RF Headphones

Price: $300

These headphones are top of the line in every way. If you're looking for a set of headphones that will not only block outside sound and not bug the neighbors but also provide a cinema quality audio system then these are the headphones to get.

Obviously the price tag is very steep for most people and I would only recommend getting these if you are very serious about your movie or TV watching or game playing experience. The fact is though you can get good quality sound from other lower priced headsets although it may not be the very very best. So what are you? Do you need the very VERY best? or can you be OK with merely good sound quality?

Pioneer SE-DIR800C Wireless Headphones with Dolby Headphone Technology

Price: $260

The Pioneer SE-DIR800C Wireless TV Headphones are also high priced but are still half the price of the Sony MDR-DS6000's. This is what I'm talking about when you can get really good headphones without having to pay the premium prices.

These headphones are perfect for watching movies and TV shows. They have the Dolby Headphone Technology that simulates surround sound with a Stereo system that's so believable its hard to tell its being "simulated". These are some of the best headphones on the market and although the pricing is pretty high you'll get a great value out of them. If I were in the market for wireless TV headphones I would go for this model because I love watching movies on my laptop at night and these deliver and awesome listening experience.

Sennheiser RS-130 Wireless Surround-Sound Headphones

Price: $140

The Sennheiser RS-130's are probably the best pair of headphones you'll find for the mid range pricing it bears. Although you can only roam within 10-15 feet of the base station, while you're in that vicinity the sound quality is very good.

As always, the lower the price the less quality is guaranteed and that's no exception with these headphones. The get the job done but there have been a number of complaints about sound leakage, the fact that you can hear considerable noise coming from the headphones while someone else is wearing them. If you're in need of some wireless TV headphones that will provide good quality sound but you cant afford the higher priced Pioneer and Sony models then go with the Sennheisers.

Sennheiser Rs110 926 Mhz Wireless Rf Headphones

Price: $50

Sennheiser has a pretty good hold on the mid-lower range wireless TV headphones market. The produce quality headphones for the price you pay and The RS110's are truly a good buy for the quality of sound, build and distance you can get from them. While they do not have sound quality as good as their pricier older brother they do have more distance, so say reviewers.

This model will be in most consumers budgets and for good reason. It doesn't deliver nearly the quality of sound as the Pioneer model but it still allows you to listen to you show, watch your movies, or play your games in relative peace. These are probably the most practical solution for anyone wanting a quick fix to a noise problem without having to fork over a ton of money.

Sony DRBT22 Wireless Stereo Headset

Price: $30

This is about as cheap as I'd recommend going. This pair of wireless headphones for TV covers the absolute basics while skimping in major way with comfort and range. These will remind you of the Walkman days when you could buy a Walkman and you'd get a pair of headphones to go with it. These are much the same with out the cord of course.

Sound quality is good but certainly not the best, again it gets the job done, and the comfort is very very average. Its hard to wear these for more than an hour and a half. The best uses for these would be computer or mp3 listening and if absolutely necessary TV watching. However its worth the extra $20 to get a better set more suited for Movies and TV.

So there you have it. 5 quick reviews of the best in each price range. Personally i would go with the Pioneers because I love to watch my movies in peace and quiet without bugging anyone else. However if you needs are more practical the lower end headphones should suit you quite well. Happy listening!
